Let’s be real—when I first saw the title I Can Parry Everything, my immediate thought was, "Great, another gimmicky anime name." I honestly expected a completely average show. But I decided to give it a shot out of sheer curiosity, and I couldn't have been more wrong. It quickly became one of the most satisfying and purely entertaining action anime I’ve seen in months.

​The Premise: Not Your Typical OP Hero

​The story centers on Noor. Unlike the flood of isekai protagonists we usually get, Noor is just a local guy from a standard fantasy world. He spent decades isolated on a mountain peak undergoing brutal training, all to master a single, fundamental skill: parrying.

​The hilarious catch? He is completely oblivious to his own strength. He genuinely believes he has zero talent and is the weakest guy around. In reality, he is casually parrying dragon fire, elite magic, and world-ending physical attacks with a beat-up sword. Watching him brush off catastrophic threats while acting like he’s just doing basic chores—while everyone around him loses their minds—is absolute gold.

​The Squad and The Journey

​Noor doesn't stay isolated for long. Once he descends from the mountains and heads to the city to finally become an adventurer, he accidentally builds an elite squad:

• ​Ines & Rolo: Ines is a highly skilled royal swordswoman, and Rolo rounds out the team perfectly.

​The dynamic among the group is what carries the show. Noor constantly thinks he’s just doing his normal, everyday duties, while his team is left standing there, jaws dropped, wondering if he is some kind of walking deity.

​World-Building and Story Progression

​The world is your classic, nostalgic fantasy setting—complete with adventurer guilds, terrifying monsters, magic, and dangerous quests. In the early episodes, Noor is just trying to be a low-rank adventurer. But as the story progresses, the threats scale up massively. He goes from parrying simple monsters to effortlessly deflecting kingdom-level disasters. The pacing of his journey from an underdog nobody to the accidental savior of the entire kingdom is incredibly well done.

​Personally, I think the biggest strength of I Can Parry Everything is that it doesn’t try to be a deep, philosophical masterpiece. It knows exactly what it is, and it delivers perfectly. After a long, stressful day of work, when you just want to turn your brain off, relax, and watch something fun, this is the ultimate comfort watch. There is something uniquely satisfying about the "underdog who is actually overpowered but doesn't know it" trope when it's executed this well.
