​I finally sat down and watched The Great Cleric (Seija Musou) from start to finish, and honestly? I’m so glad I did. If you’re like me and you’re pretty burned out on those generic isekai where the hero wakes up with god-like powers and just destroys everyone, this show is going to feel like a huge relief.

​I spent the last few days watching this, and what really hooked me wasn’t some crazy, flashy power-up sequence. It was the grind. Luciel isn’t some "chosen one" destiny kid. He’s just a former salaryman who gets a second chance at life and actually has to put in the work. Watching him figure out his healing magic, save money, and slowly build a reputation for himself felt so rewarding. It’s rare to find an anime where the protagonist feels this grounded.

​What I really appreciated was the combat. It’s not just mindless explosions; it’s tactical. Because he’s a healer, Luciel actually has to use his brain during fights. Every time he stepped into a dangerous situation, I found myself genuinely tense because I never knew if he was actually going to make it out or not. It kept me locked in.
